SMART STEP can also function as an intelligent makeup base with smoothing and prolonged hold effect. The formula instantly saturates the skin with moisture, evens out the micro-relief, and creates the perfect base for smooth makeup application without dryness or “patching.” Thanks to its moisturising matrix and Zinc PCA, makeup appears cleaner and lasts longer — without stickiness, heaviness, or a silicone-film effect.

How Does It Work?:

SMART STEP is not a superficial moisturiser — it works on the level of the internal hair structure.

  • Glycols, sugars, and sodium hyaluronate actively attract and transport moisture into the hair
  • Algin, pullulan, and the polymer matrix (Patch-20) retain moisture during the procedure
  • Amino acids and Zinc PCA stabilise the hair before chemical exposure and improve its ability to retain moisture

As a result, the hair:

  • Becomes softer and more elastic
  • Is no longer dry or “closed”
  • Absorbs active ingredients better
  • Responds to lifting and lightening formulas more predictably

SMART STEP prepares the hair before applying STEP 1 LIFT. After using SMART STEP, Step 1 works on hydrated, activated hair instead of dry and resistant hair fibers.

This allows you to:

  • Reduce the processing time of Step 1
  • Minimise aggressive chemical impact
  • Prevent dryness and stiffness
  • Achieve more consistent results on different hair types

Directions For Use:

Professional Use:

  1. Cleanse lashes or brows using OKO Shampoo Cloudy Foam 3-in-1.
  2. Apply SMART STEP to clean, dry hair.
  3. Leave on for 30 seconds to 1–2 minutes, depending on hair condition.
  4. Remove excess product with a dry cotton pad or cotton swab.
  5. Continue with the lifting or lightning procedure.

Home Use:

SMART STEP can also be used between treatments as an intensive hydrating treatment for lashes and brows.

  1. Apply a small amount of product and allow it to absorb completely.
  2. If needed, follow with a nourishing or fixing product.

Makeup Use:

  1. Apply a thin layer to clean skin, allow 30–60 seconds for absorption, then proceed with makeup application.
